Queer Storytelling: Neon Pantheon allows its queer characters to exist freely and fully, as natural parts of who they are, without their identities being plot points or sources of suffering. There is no “queer tragedy” in Neon Pantheon.
Mental Illness: The main character has bipolar disorder, and the twins’ journey serves as a metaphor for the author’s experience with bipolar disorder.
A Word to Parents or Readers who Require More Care and Sensitivity: If you’re a parent/guardian or an individual who requires extra care who is concerned about the content warnings: nothing in Neon Pantheon is included for shock value, and all sensitive topics are approached with care and intention. If you are a concerned parent or reader that requires a more sensitive approach who would like more information before reading, feel free to reach out to me directly at rynillustrates@gmail.com. To put it in simple terms, there is nothing in Neon Pantheon that would not be in a PG-13 Marvel film.
